1. Southend Rental Agreement

All vehicle rentals booked with Southend are subject to a detailed Rental Agreement supplied at booking confirmation or at vehicle collection. This agreement sets out the specific terms, conditions, insurance details, charges and your responsibilities for the relevant rental. If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

2. Southend Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Southend, you must:

Be at least 21 years old for rentals in Southend (age restrictions may vary by vehicle type, with additional charges possible for drivers under 25). Hold a valid, full driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category, held for the minimum period specified in the Rental Agreement. Provide valid identification and proof of address plus a payment method as required at the time of rental.

3. Booking and Payment — Southend

Bookings can be made via our website, by phone, or in person at our Southend branch. A booking deposit may be required to confirm your reservation. Full payment and the security deposit are typically due when you collect the vehicle. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable.

4. Vehicle Collection and Return (Southend)

When collecting a Southend vehicle you must inspect it for any pre-existing damage and report any issues to Southend immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by you and a Southend representative. Return the vehicle in the same condition as when collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage identified on return will be assessed and charged to the hirer.

5. Southend Liability Insurance

Basic third-party insurance is included with all Southend rentals. Full coverage details and excess amounts are provided in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial liability. Please review these options carefully before accepting the Rental Agreement. You are responsible for damage or loss up to the excess amount shown in the Rental Agreement.

6. Cancellation and Changes for Southend

Southend's cancellation and amendment policies vary by booking type and notice period. Please refer to your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for specific details. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges.

7. Southend Prohibitions

You must not use a Southend vehicle for:

Any illegal purpose or activity involving a Southend vehicle. Participation in racing, rallying, off-road events, or other hazardous activities. Transporting hazardous or dangerous materials. Subletting to third parties or allowing unauthorized drivers. Operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Use of the vehicle for purposes for which it was not intended.

Breaching Southend's restrictions may result in immediate rental termination and additional charges.

8. Liability of Southend

To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Southend Vehicle Hire Services is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data or business arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the total charges paid by you for those services in the twelve months immediately before the claim.

9. Applicable Law

These Terms relating to Southend are governed by English and Welsh law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of English and Welsh courts.

10. Changes to Southend Terms

Southend may modify these Terms at any time. Changes become effective immediately upon posting on the Southend website. Your continued use of Southend services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
